Dr. Sofia Fischer is assistant professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, and director of the educational committee responsible for education of medical students and physician assistant students. Her clinical expertise and research interests include aortic surgery, one-lung ventilation, advanced TEE training and three-dimensional echocardiography, near-infrared spectroscopy for detection of spinal cord ischemia during thoracoabdominal aortic surgery, and near-infrared spectroscopy data collection and interventions for desaturation in cardiac surgery.
